This razor was on my wish list ever since David Martin Ohioshaves did a video review of it and saying it gave him the best shave of 2023. I held off buying it to time the purchase of it in celebration of one of life’s milestones so I could justify getting yet another razor I wanted but didn’t need. I finally ordered it but, ultimately, Jake couldn’t fill the order and had to refund my money because he went out of business. But now, thanks to Matt and Razor Emporium, I was able to order it on July 4th in celebration of our nations’ 250th anniversary. The first shave on one day’s growth with a Personna Comfort Coat blade was actually a little disappointing. Had I reviewed it at that time I would have said I still preferred my Rockwell 6S and my Razorock Gamechanger with various baseplates (which may still be the case). But subsequent shaves with a Personna Gem Diamond Glide blade were more satisfying and in line with my expectations and put in on a par with those other razors. I would judge it to be about like a Rockwell 6S on the 3 or 4 plate. I am hesitant to call any razor a “grail razor” but this one along with the aforementioned ones would come the closest. It will probably be awhile before I get the urge to buy another razor.

I've had it with positive exposure! In my long experience of this type of shaving a tiny amount didn't matter. But as I've got older my skin has definitely thinned and weepers and nicks have occurred with razors which carry a modest positive when they never used to. So decided to try a neutral exposure razor. And the Merica has ticked every box imaginable . It has performed superlatively and way beyond any expectations i may have had. Super smooth, copes with every blade I've out it to. Great design and a real looker too! I cannot envisage a better razor for me. And having really enjoyed using the 921M for years I was delighted to see Matt and the team step up and as i understand it preserve the brand. Kudos to all involved or a top project well achieved

I saw someone else write that this is a Goldilocks razor, and I couldn’t agree more. Delivers an impressively close shave while not being overly aggressive. Very smooth and enjoyable to use!

As mentioned in a previous review, this is a mild razor and blade selection carries some weight, but with my setup (Personna Gem) it gives a pleasant, smooth, and not too unpleasantly close shave. Ergonomics are quite good even with the relatively short handle. Recommend
