Blazer - The Goodfellas’ smile adjustable safety razor

Accurate and with quality finishes, the Blazer safety razor is the first adjustable razor from The Goodfellas’ smile razor stable.
Made from brass and zamak, coated with a shiny chrome finish, the Blazer razor has 6 levels of adjustment (1 Gentler cut | 6 More effective cut).
The levels are easily and intuitively adjusted through a rotating ring located at the top of the handle. The red dot will always indicate the level at which the safety razor has been set.

How to insert the blade into the Blazer safety razor:

1- Turn the knob at the base of the handle anti-clockwise until it is completely unscrewed (even when unscrewed, the knob will remain hanging in the handle of the razor)
2- Lift the cap of the razor and remove it.
3- Insert the shaving blade
4- Close the razor and screw the knob back into the base by turning it clockwise.

Defining the cutting adjustment:
Adjustable safety razors shave the beard completely at any level, the settings are not designed to adjust the length of the hair (which will always be completely removed) but to manage the effectiveness of the shaving blade on the face during shaving.
A longer beard will require a higher level setting to effectively cut the hair, just as a lower level should be set by those who prefer to shave daily.

Your first—and possibly, last—adjustable

I’m a big fan of adjustable safety razors. As someone with sensitive skin and a coarse beard, I find that I can usually get a bbs result from an adjustable with only two passes. Adjustables make my shaving routine efficient and comfortable. But most adjustable safety razors have one big drawback—price. And even though I have sirloin tastes, I most definitely also have a hamburger budget. So I am always on the lookout for an adjustable that hits that sweet spot of superior quality and performance at a discount price. It’s a hit-or-miss proposition. Although most budget adjustables offered today are very good, all the ones I’ve bought have left me wanting more. Until this one. The Goodfellas’ Smile Blazer is the first discount adjustable that I’ve found can hold its own against razors several times its price. The Blazer is a white-labeled version of the Yaqi Final Cut closed-comb chrome razor. This model earned some very bad press in its first few production runs over four years ago; but given how whatever gets posted on the internet lives forever, it’s easy enough to walk away believing that what was true then still applies today. But you would be wrong. The Blazer is a budget adjustable that deserves to be compared right alongside such pricy competitors as the Rex Ambassador. Well designed and manufactured, it delivers comfortable, close shaves on even its lowest setting, with plenty of room to grow as you gain familiarity with it. The Blazer has six numbered settings, but the dial can travel twice around the handle, for an effective range of twelve! I typically use the Blazer on setting 4 for my first pass, and 2 for my second pass, for an unimpeachable, bbs result. If I’m in a hurry, I crank it up to 5 on the first pass, with a little touch-up here and there. If I weren’t such an adjustable fanboy, the Blazer could easily be my one and only razor. But since my quest for the perfect adjustable continues, I hope that Goodfellas’ Smile will also pick up the stainless steel member of the Final Cut family, the Yaqi Ultima. Until then, I’m content to push the upper limit of the Blazer’s range in my quest for that perfectly comfortable, one-pass bbs shave.
