Impressed - Beginner

No beard to shave however I've wanted to learn how to use a straight razor. So I lady-balls up and bought this one with the leather/canvas strop. Still in the process of learning as I use it on my legs. Not skilled enough for my armpits - I save those for my safety razor. I've got the right leg down flawlessly, left leg is still in progress. Out of the box, this razor was quite sharp. No pulling on the skin and I had a clean first shave. Haven't had to hone it yet, and I'm on my third time using it. I'll use it on the strop after each use. I think next time if I were to get another one, I would get one with a shorter blade as when shaving my legs I don't use the end 1/4" of the blade. Other than that, I really do like it and get a much closer shave on my legs with this versus the safety razor or disposable ones.

Mixed feelings

I ordered this razor as a first straight razor and compared to my safety razor this is great. I’m still new so I’m still touching up with my safety razor, but I am getting closer shaves now than before. Shipping was fast and the product was as advertised to my expectations. After I received it I did some research and realized although they say it is “shave ready” it should still be honed again. I’ve read of Honers receiving the blade and finding pitting on the blade edge. Overall for me it is doing as expected.

Starts great but goes dull fast

I would give this more stars, but after watching the videos and how the product is portrayed , I was only able to get two shaves before the razor was beyond dull. The second shave tug and pulled so bad I had to finish with my safety razor. Not so great when advertised as shave ready. Kinda of a bummer.

It's great!

I'm a rookie straight razor user. I've used it 3 times now. I am very impressed with whoever is the current honemeister. I really like the weight of the blade. I definitely recommend this straight razor to 1st times. Now for my only complaint. I wish they would have tightened up the pin connecting blade to scales.
