I'm a big fan of the Merkur legacy and the Merkur razors I've purchased so far, one for myself and one for my son. I purchased this one for my next oldest son once he started shaving. He found that it seemed the blade wasn't making contact enough to cut. I put in a different blade and tried it out myself on a regular shave day. I found the same problem to be the case even with a different brand blade. It appears the connection of the blade to the razor causes the blade to be too close for a proper opening to allow hair to enter in order to be cut. Not sure if there is an overall weakness in the engineering of this one, or if this just happened to be a lemon. We had to send the razor back for a refund. I was sorry to do this as my son and I both really liked the look and feel of the model in all other respects.

Love it. It’s the travel version of the 34C. The handle is a bit shorter than the 34C, but not too short, and grippier than it looks. My understanding is that the head is the same as the 34C, so if you like how that shaves, you’ll like this. It packs smaller than I thought it would because the handle packs into itself, so it barely takes up any space in your Dop kit. The pouch is synthetic, but looks like it will last. Merkur quality and German engineering will keep you looking good on the road.
