I started whet shaving back in the early 2000. Like many one of my first safety razors was the Merkur 34C. I have quite a collection of vintage razors along with some more modern safety razors. Probably pushing 75 to 80 razors in my collection. I still love and use the 34C on a regular basis because of my facial hair type and real sensitive skin ( I like mild to low mid razors in aggressive/efficient razors. The new head design (2024) that Merkur used in this new Stainless 34C Inox razor is great. The head and cap cover the blade tabs it has a different lather channel design along with a short threaded stem on the top cap verses the longer threaded stem on the original non stainless design. I personally find it slightly ever so slightly more efficient than my older chrome brass & zamick 34C. When you read reviews online some reviewers say installing the blade is harder to do because of the shorter threaded top cap stem. I did not at all find that to be the case and had no issues in this area YMMV. The fit and finish is very good the matt finish looks nice and the razor maintained the original 34C look and feel pretty much to a tee in my humble opinion. The accessories are nice but do they justify the cost maybe not for some. I hope Merkur someday sales this razor without the accessories and maybe without the Lazor etching in stainless for a lesser cost. (The lazor etching did not bother me like it did with others in some reviews I have read) I think a downgraded Stainless model without all the accessories would sell well for Merkur. Who knows maybe they will go that route. If you are a big fan like me of the 34C you will love this Stainless model offering of the 34C razor. Bill G
