Gillette Ball End Replica Handle - Universally Threaded Billet Brass Factory Nickel

SKU: BE-Replica

Description

Introducing a new product fro Razor Emporium, one that has been much needed in the world of vintage wet-shaving. Gillette Ball End handles found on Old Type, New Improved, and NEW era razors are seen frequently with cracks. Most handles feature at least a hairline crack, and some are split completely in half. This flaw is the result of a pressfitting technique which in combination with poor metallurgy resulted in weak handles and unusable razors.

Our handles are made from billet high quality brass and we have corrected the cracks by threading the neck and ball into the handle rather than press-fitting. The threads have been thread-locked so they will never come loose and will never crack. A beautiful Ball End handle can accompany most safety razor heads including Ikon, Edwin Jagger, Above the Tie, and etc. These handles are a great find, add one to your cart now.

    Excellent Replica

I have a Gillette New razor (patent Jan 23, 1920) with small cracks at both ends of the handle. I can shave with it, but the top will pop out if the handle of I'm not careful. So I bought the replica handle as a replacement. The original razor weighs 1.9 grams assembled and 2 grams assembled with the replica handle. Compared to the original the replica has a balance point slightly higher up the handle than the original. The original handle's ball end is heavier, hence the different balance point, it is also slightly wider and shorter than the replica's ball end. The replica handle is easier to grip because of the deeper kneeling. The shave is excellent. It feels very similar to the original. Good weight and balance to the razor and very comfortable in the hand. A pleasure to use!

    Ball end replica handle

I bought an Edwin Jagger 3one6 with the blue handle. Pretty, but slippery when wet. This handle solves that problem. Well made. I heartily endorse this handle.

    Gillette ball end replica handle

I purchased both the Nickel and Brass Replica handles. They are well made and look great with many of my vintage razors. Great work RE!

    Very Nice

Very well done. Nice plating job and so glad its brass. Someone needed to have come up with a replica replacement for the ball-end handle.
