What We Do

Vintage safety razors pack some of the most bang for the buck, but knowing if they are fully functional, hygienic and shave-ready is a different story. Starting at $35, we offer a professional restoration that helps bring your old-school razor back to its glory days.

*Please Note: Specialty razors include Bottom Dial Fatboy, Red Dot Fatboy, and Toggle Safety Razors.

How it Works

  1. We first clean your razor in our industrial ultrasonic machine to remove any soap scum, mineral deposits and grime. Disassembly is carried out for the best results whenever possible.
  2. Next we carefully polish the inside and out of your razor, bringing the vintage metal up to a high luster.
  3. Mechanical adjustments are made to ensure the best functionality of your razor.
  4. We carry out any painting that is needed - numbers on adjusters, tips on super speeds and black handles. We use color-matched powder coating that exactly replicates the original factory colors and process.
  5. Razors are again cleaned and sanitized before being lubricated and mailed back home. We include a free Polishing Cloth that will safely keep the shine on your vintage find!

Why It Matters

Professionally servicing means you'll get the best shaves possible knowing that your razor is functioning as it was designed to. Eliminate common problems that affect shaving performance such as:

  • Bent guards
  • Uneven blade gap
  • Frozen adjusters
  • Loose handles
  • Jammed doors
  • Twist To Open issues
  • Broken Clicker Spring (if you have an adjustable and it doesn't click anymore select the above option)

    Totally oustanding work!

I sent Razor Emporium a thrift shop find Gillette Fatboy, Date Code of E-1, that was actually a pretty clean looking Razor, and I probably know the reason why it was so clean. That over the years it probably sat dormant in someone's drawer unused. The TTO Doors were snapping shut like a Moustrap with final closure of the doors, and knew from a long past memory that something wasn't right, and this wasn't how this razor was supposed to function. So of it went, Razor Emporium sent me verification emails of payment received, and also the Razor received and was being cued for the chosen tune-up service. My basic two most importance concerns were bad internal parts that could possibly condemn the Razor, and length of time for repair and tune up. Considering the biggest holidays of the year were upon us, and a certainty of a considerable backlog, turn-around time was quite fast I thought, and I was like a kid on Christmas when they emailed me to tell me it was return shipped, and then seeing it in my mailbox! :-) Appearance and function of the Razor looked, and worked beautiful!. While I didn't opt for the Replating Service, it did look spotless, and the TTO Feature, the Knob, the Doors opened and closed just the weay they were intended to from Gillette. A nice extra touch was the very nice polishing suede MF Towelette they sent along with. Certainly very eager to try it out, and I did the following morning! In went a Fresh Wilkinson Classic Blade, set adjustment dial from #1 to #3, lathered up with Proraso Menthol in the Tube, and went at it. The first pass was oh so smooth, zero drag, the Wilkinson Blade is a fairly decent blade, not the best, but felt so smooth and effortless in this razor. On the second against the Grain Pass, it felt like there wasn't even a blade in the Razor, and was thinking to myself "This puts my new Edwin Jagger DE89lbl Razor to shame! I came away with a BBS shave, zero irritation after, and also found I was done in just about 1/2 the time from the EJ DE89 Razor, it felt so "safe", and easy to use on my face. A huge 2 thumbs up to Razor Emporium, you folks have made me so very happy, and very pleased with choosing you, and the beautiful work you have done for me! Thank you folks again very much! PS: I am a Badger& Blade forum member, and have passed along your great service to others! Mark in New Mexico

I was a little apprehensive about the process, but everything worked out as they said it would, and what they delivered was way beyond my expectations
