What We Do

Vintage safety razors pack some of the most bang for the buck, but knowing if they are fully functional, hygienic and shave-ready is a different story. Starting at $35, we offer a professional restoration that helps bring your old-school razor back to its glory days.

*Please Note: Specialty razors include Bottom Dial Fatboy, Red Dot Fatboy, and Toggle Safety Razors.

How it Works

  1. We first clean your razor in our industrial ultrasonic machine to remove any soap scum, mineral deposits and grime. Disassembly is carried out for the best results whenever possible.
  2. Next we carefully polish the inside and out of your razor, bringing the vintage metal up to a high luster.
  3. Mechanical adjustments are made to ensure the best functionality of your razor.
  4. We carry out any painting that is needed - numbers on adjusters, tips on super speeds and black handles. We use color-matched powder coating that exactly replicates the original factory colors and process.
  5. Razors are again cleaned and sanitized before being lubricated and mailed back home. We include a free Polishing Cloth that will safely keep the shine on your vintage find!

Why It Matters

Professionally servicing means you'll get the best shaves possible knowing that your razor is functioning as it was designed to. Eliminate common problems that affect shaving performance such as:

  • Bent guards
  • Uneven blade gap
  • Frozen adjusters
  • Loose handles
  • Jammed doors
  • Twist To Open issues
  • Broken Clicker Spring (if you have an adjustable and it doesn't click anymore select the above option)

quick, quality service as promised, just a few details...

I have sent two vintage gillette adjustables in for service. A "black beauty" which was hopelessly stuck in setting 5, and crusted in soap since the 70s, and a 1960 fatboy which was ok but I wanted it sanitized and to make sure the gaps were proper. They both came back functioning great. The "black beauty" came back in great shape, like new and everything functioning perfectly. I couldn't tell if the paint on the handles, numbers or clicker had been touched up, but they were pretty ok in the first place. But clean and polished gap adjustments even, very happy with it! Same with the fatboy, clean and polished, smooth functions, gap adjustments seem in order, again, not sure if the numbers or red clicker were touched up as they were ok going in. This fatboy had a little bronze showing through, and Matt called me personally to ask if I wanted to upgrade the service to a revamp. It was nice talking to Matt and the service turnaround is as promised. I know this is nitpicking. It should have been a five star review. I would have liked better communication through the service process, as I understood there would be. I know its a tall order to have pictures of the process, I got one from the BB as it arrived. With both razors I received an email saying it was in the service queue , then nothing until an email saying it had been sent. Nonetheless, you will not regret sending your razor in for service at Razor Emporium, and I have two more that I will send in soon. I am being so picky because I think it would be fun to be more involved with the process, as I understood I would be. NO BIG DEAL. EXCELLENT RESULTS!

    Totally worth the money

The Tune up service completely blew away my expectations and is worth much more that what I paid. My old flare tip had definitely seen better days but Razor emporium brought back its luster and looks brand new. If you have a vintage that you are looking to restore yet keep its classic appeal than what are you waiting for. Send it in ASAP.

    AWESOME!

I sent my 1960 Fatboy (Family Heirloom) in for an adjutment not realizing it needed a plating as well. I was contacted before the work was done and advised that plating would be required in order to make it "new" again........Little did I know what I was getting! My "new" 1960 Fatboy arrived a couple of weeks later and man what a deal! It not only looks great, but the shave is way better than before. I highly recommend this service.

    Top Quality Work!

I sent in my 109 Black Beauty Adjustable Gillette razor to Razor Emporium for the Tune-Up service. It was a great experience with updates as promised and quick turn around time. They tuned my razor and made it look almost brand new. I am highly satisfied with the work and would recommend the service.
