What We Do

Vintage safety razors pack some of the most bang for the buck, but knowing if they are fully functional, hygienic and shave-ready is a different story. Starting at $35, we offer a professional restoration that helps bring your old-school razor back to its glory days.

*Please Note: Specialty razors include Bottom Dial Fatboy, Red Dot Fatboy, and Toggle Safety Razors.

How it Works

  1. We first clean your razor in our industrial ultrasonic machine to remove any soap scum, mineral deposits and grime. Disassembly is carried out for the best results whenever possible.
  2. Next we carefully polish the inside and out of your razor, bringing the vintage metal up to a high luster.
  3. Mechanical adjustments are made to ensure the best functionality of your razor.
  4. We carry out any painting that is needed - numbers on adjusters, tips on super speeds and black handles. We use color-matched powder coating that exactly replicates the original factory colors and process.
  5. Razors are again cleaned and sanitized before being lubricated and mailed back home. We include a free Polishing Cloth that will safely keep the shine on your vintage find!

Why It Matters

Professionally servicing means you'll get the best shaves possible knowing that your razor is functioning as it was designed to. Eliminate common problems that affect shaving performance such as:

  • Bent guards
  • Uneven blade gap
  • Frozen adjusters
  • Loose handles
  • Jammed doors
  • Twist To Open issues
  • Broken Clicker Spring (if you have an adjustable and it doesn't click anymore select the above option)

    Impeccable work

I brought my 1940s Gillette tech ball end in for a revamp and my Old Spice brass Trac II for a tune up and what a difference. They both look like new. The Gillette Tech is beautiful with the 24K factory gold. It looks so good in my gold pocket edition case, which will be the next thing I take in for revamp. The Old Spice razor was the most impressive though. Before the tune up, it had minor pitting, some rust and tarnishing. I never knew that polishing could make such a drastic change. The razor looks brand new. Sometimes, a revamp is not needed. Just trust Matt and his team to give the best advice and they will take care of you. I will return in the future. Thank you Razor Emporium.

    Very Pleased

Razor Emporium does excellent work refurbishing vintage razors. The discount for returning customers is especially appreciated. The only thing keeping me from giving a 5 star rating is that the status emails seem to be automatically generated, and can be confusing and/or not reflective of actual status. I emailed customer service for clarification after a second status report saying my razor had been "received and checked in" about two weeks after original receipt had been acknowledged, but never got a response. This won't keep me from being a return customer, but this kind of discrepancy needs to be addressed.

    Excellent results!

I recently sent in a Gillette Slim (1966) for tune-up service to give as a gift to a family member. The razor came back looking like it was brand new! Razor was adjusted perfectly on all settings. Very happy with the results.

    Perfect Tune Up

I had my Grandfather's 1963 Gillette Slim Adjustable for several years, but the blade was misaligned. Since this was my only thing from my Grandfather, it was loved and prized. I ask for it to be aligned and cleaned, but not replated, since I want it to looked like the same razor that has been used daily since the 1960s. The tune up was the perfect answer. I could not ask for better. It is aligned, cleaned, and the adjustment numbers were restored.
