What We Do

Vintage safety razors pack some of the most bang for the buck, but knowing if they are fully functional, hygienic and shave-ready is a different story. Starting at $35, we offer a professional restoration that helps bring your old-school razor back to its glory days.

*Please Note: Specialty razors include Bottom Dial Fatboy, Red Dot Fatboy, and Toggle Safety Razors.

How it Works

  1. We first clean your razor in our industrial ultrasonic machine to remove any soap scum, mineral deposits and grime. Disassembly is carried out for the best results whenever possible.
  2. Next we carefully polish the inside and out of your razor, bringing the vintage metal up to a high luster.
  3. Mechanical adjustments are made to ensure the best functionality of your razor.
  4. We carry out any painting that is needed - numbers on adjusters, tips on super speeds and black handles. We use color-matched powder coating that exactly replicates the original factory colors and process.
  5. Razors are again cleaned and sanitized before being lubricated and mailed back home. We include a free Polishing Cloth that will safely keep the shine on your vintage find!

Why It Matters

Professionally servicing means you'll get the best shaves possible knowing that your razor is functioning as it was designed to. Eliminate common problems that affect shaving performance such as:

  • Bent guards
  • Uneven blade gap
  • Frozen adjusters
  • Loose handles
  • Jammed doors
  • Twist To Open issues
  • Broken Clicker Spring (if you have an adjustable and it doesn't click anymore select the above option)

Tune up for my Gillette Fatboy 1958 Gold Exectutive DE safety razor.

Razor Emporium is the only place I will ever trust to do any services on any of my double edge safety razors. I sent in my 1958 Gold Executive Gillette Fatboy to Razor Emporium for the basic Tune Up/overhaul. I was kept in the loop of everything that was part of the progress including arrival via USPS, when the procedure began, what the technicians were doing throughout the process, and when they were finished and when my Gillette departed from their facility enroute back to me. Even the Founder (the man in the YouTube videos that are so interesting and informative) who's name I can't remember how to spell correctly (apologies) contacted me personally on several occasions in reference to the procedural process. My Gillette arrived at my house within about 5 days. In a sturdy cardboard box, wrapped in bubble wrap, inside a Ziplock bag, surrounded by packing peanuts. Inside was a certificate of completion and a document explaining what was done. My Gillette was all squared away and good to go! It looked like it just came off of the shelf, brand new, all polished up,with the adjustment dial in perfect condition and numbers painted, along with the black ring around the upper area of the handle. The TTO knob opened the doors and locked down tight with an extra quarter turn as it should effectively. The doors on top opened evenly and the gaps for the doors were perfectly even and symmetrical. The blade gaps on both sides were even and spaced perfectly and were no longer crooked. The dial and bottom TTO knob were lubricated and functioned smoothly. The razor was polished everywhere were it was needed and looked shiny and smooth as glass. My only concern is that it is now in such pristine condition, that I would rather have it on display than dull it by actually shaving with it! Thank you Razor Emporium and staff for an outstanding job that far exceeded my expectations. I now want to send this Gillette back for revamping! I have another chrome Fatboy that I will be sending soon for a total revamping and I'm requesting a full service procedure, including the beautiful mirror finish rhodium replating! I can't wait to send it to y'all at Razor Emporium and get it back all replated in the awesome rhodium. I would recommend Razor Emporium to anyone who requires their services, and I give them a 5 Star Rating! ***** 10/10! Chuck McCall.

    Amazing

I got a vintage Gillette adjustable razor from my father in law. It was in deed of some TLC. I had been watching Matt on youtube for a while and thought why not send it to an expert. I followed the instructions on the order screen. I sent it off and in a day or 2 they got the package. Here is why I am giving them a 4 start instead of a 5 star. I never got an update that they got the razor even tho usps said that they did. I had to email them to get any of my updates. The razor was finished and 3 days later it was shipped wasn't real happy about that. Total time away about 2 weeks. The finished product was amazing tho. I am using it now and it took some getting use to but I love it. I am using it on adjustment 3. It gives me the perfect shave. I recommend getting this service done but be prepared to be without your razor for a little bit.

    Adequate Job

End cap was tilted, door closed uneven, and blade gap was way off on one side. The fix mostly leveled the end cap, the silo doors closed almost at the same time, and the end results blade gap where not straight was adequate. All in all I would have expected a little better effort on the part of the repair person.
