The Top Cap is the top part of the safety razor that is configured to clamp the blade between itself and the bottom plate. The Top Cap comprises at least one protrusion that is configured to pass through the blade holes and fit into cavities on the bottom plate.

Due to the geometry between the top cap and the bottom plate, when the razor is assembled, the blade will deform and achieve a certain blade angle.
