There are pluses and minuses that surround this razor. Here goes:: PLUSES ---------- 1) stainless steel 2) infinite adjustability 1-6 and in between 3) simple to load and unload the blade 4) great knurled handle MINUSES ------------ 1) Price point is way too high 2) service was poor from RE...shipped very late and not when promised 3) much care needs to be taken when aligning the top plate 4) should be polished for this price 5) average efficiency....My Rockwell 6S gives a better shave, is stainless, and costs half the price I am glad that someone has finally came out with a stainless knob adjustable razor. Is this a great razor...NO. But, it is a good razor but not for $230. Save $130 and get the Rockwell 6S.

OK I debated over buying this razor because it is a bit expensive. I finally broke down and am glad I did. It is a beautiful razor no doubt but the more important question is how does it work? (spoiler alert: it works just great). The balance is fine,the grip excellent and it is smooth even with the higher settings. It ticked off all three columns for me:clean,close and comfortable. Some people might prefer a longer handle but for me this is just right. I like to have my hands closer to my face because I feel it gives me better control. The base plate is a bit thinner than say a Mergress(another fave of mine) which makes it easier to get into the tight spots on my chin and jawline. I am glad I talked myself into this razor. I am looking forward to many more fine shaves with the Rex. Well done!

The Rex Ambassador is an elegant looking razor. The model I received came after they started polishing off the occasional tool markings, so I have zero complaints on the finish end. The knurling is fantastic, as is the weight and balance. The razor shaves beautifully, and is truly adjustable. I'm able to consistently get a one-pass shave with touch ups. I've seen complaints about the packaging, but that's not an important detail for me since I keep it on a stand in my bathroom. The cardboard box it shipped in was sufficient to get the razor to me without damage which is good enough. The only real knock for me with this razor is that loading blades can be a little tricky. That said, once they're in, they're solidly in. The Ambassador looks beautiful and delivers a great shave. I'm very happy I bought one.

At the look of it, the Rex Ambassador shines of quality. Perfect built, great details and looks and feels fantastic. Holding it, reminds me of some kind of high end precision medical instrument. Handling; not 100% sure yet, but very nice. Finding the correct angle is absolutely no problem. Regarding the shave - wow - 100%. The way this razor shaves could in a way make this razor become my absolute favourite razor, but on the another hand there is especially one issue which worries me little, and might down grade the razor slightly. I find this razor extremely effective - the most effective razor I got. I had it on setting 3, and just like I normally do every morning, I did my two passes plus some touchups. The result was faboulus. Issue; the adjusting ring. It´s extremely easily rotated, has more or less no friction and rotates of almost nothing. And by that I am worried about it rotating and changing the setting without me deliberately changing it. It is slightly more difficult to load the Rex Ambassador than any of my other razors, and even more difficult removing the blade. Most effective way loading is to press the blade on to the top cap and the guiding pins. The precision of this razor is such that the blade fits exactly which also means that the blade get attached when in place. This makes it also slightly difficult to remove, because the blade have to be pressed off. To my personal tase the guiding pins should have been a millimetre or two longer and slightly coned at the ends so that loading and in turn guiding the top cap onto the razor could be even effortless. Over all, a fantastic razor, which i am looking forward to get to know better. 4 stars, and not 5, because of the setting ring and the ned to press on- and off the blade.
