I received what looked like a finely engineered jewellery piece in stunning Rhodium and the shave was fantasttic. Using Fine menthol soap and a 5 setting i engaged in a 3-pass shave and moved up to the 9 for the third and final pass. Incredibly smooth yet close shave - Kai blades nice. No cuts or nicks - Little more else to say.

This is a great razor for beginners or experienced wet shavers. It is milder than I expected which has turned out to make this a great daily shaver. Razor Emporium does a great job with the revamp too. It looks brand new!!

First vintage razor really like this

Although I have been a DE safety razor user for years, the Gillette Slim Adjustable took a short time to use it effectively. At first, I thought the turning lock mechanism didn't work that I tried to force it, not knowing that there isn't a clicking sound. In fact, one of the silo doors got pushed up off the hinge because of turning to hard. I was able to put the door back to its correct position. I don't have the door issue I stop the turn when the handle can't go any further. Now, I did get a nick or two because the razor is lighter than my other DE razors. However, after a few shaves at setting 6, it gives my a very nice shave. I shave every day or every other day so I don't see myself going to setting 9 unless I don't shave for week. I think the highest I will go is it. I am a head shaver and have used it, and I got a close shave with a nick or two, but I have another DE razor which does a better job for shaving my head. All in all, I am satisfied with face shaving with the Gillette Slim Adjustable, but will rarely use it when shaving my head. Maybe my assessment will change as I use my slim adjustable more frequently.
