I have a light beard and very sensitive skin. I was concerned about purchasing the correct blades. I selected a 1940s Gillette New Tech, ball-end DE Safety Razor from Razor Emporium for my WWII reenactment shaving kit. But I was worried about getting just the right blade for the razor and my tender face. After reading through as much material and reviews posted at Razor Emporium, I settled on the Gillette Silver Blue blade. I have not been disappointed. The Gillette Silver Blue in the 1940s New Tech razor actually gives me the closest and most comfortable shave I've ever had! I did not expect a DE safety razor to deliver a more superior shave than modern razors. Nor did I expect it to spare my sensitive skin! I attribute the pleasant shaving experience to matching the Gillette 1940s New Tech razor with the Gillette Silver Blue blade. After two weeks of shaving with the vintage razor system, I am still using the same Gillette Silver Blue blade I first put in the razor. Perhaps it is lasting so long because my beard is light. But it is still giving me a superior shave long after my modern blades would have begun grabbing my skin and nicking it. I am quite satisfied with my decision to pair the Gillette Silver Blue blade with my vintage Gillette razor.

Eh says it all . not one of the best shaves i have ever had but it may be good for you. Worth trying for the experience!
