I've been using a GEM/Ever-Ready razor for the past three months. I am getting 8-9 good shaves out of one blade. Which, by the way, corresponds to the use numbers in a survey of customer satisfaction that GEM printed in one of their advertisements in the middle 1930's. The technique with any of the GEM razors is very different from using a cartridge razor or a SE razor like the Leaf Twig. The angle is different, and in my experience you need to let the weight of the razor do the work and not push or pull. Once I figured that out, I was hooked. Not cutting myself every single time I shaved and avoiding most razor burn is new to my sixty plus year old self.

The blades were the best I recommend the blades to anyone who has thick beard I used it with the 1912 gem razor it taken off the beard without a fuss.

The sharpest-feeling of the GEM blades currently sold by RazorEmporium. In my MicroMatic Open Comb this blade is super aggressive and uncomfortable, but it does yield a very close shave. In my Featherweight, it is smooth, comfortable, and yields very nearly as close a shave. This is my preferred blade, even if it does make the more aggressive GEMs a bit of a bear to use - the results are quite good.

Good sharp blades what else can you say. They will shave!
